I Am A Farmer

Dear Consumer,

I am a farmer that provides the food you put on your plate. Every. Single. Day.

I am a farmer that is part of only 2% left in our country.

I am a farmer that provides quality meat that can be eaten in a restaurant or purchased at your local store.

As an advocate for agriculture, I am compelled to make the world understand; We truly care for each and every one of our animals, our land, and the environment.

I am a farmer who is anguished when I lose an animal after spending countless hours trying to save him.

I am a farmer that puts my heart and soul into every animal that is on my farm.

I am a farmer regulated by our state and federal government, including the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).

I am a farmer that produces corn, soybeans, and wheat that you use (at least one) every day whether you understand it or not.

I am a farmer that respects and invests in the land I farm to enhance the environment.

I am a farmer that is devastated as I watch my crop destroyed by Mother Nature.

I am a farmer that carries the weight of feeding the world on my shoulders.

I am a farmer that questions myself over and over again, will I make it another year?

I am a farmer that is dependent on the weather and the grain markets.

I am a farmer that, lives at my job and is on call 24/7 with my livestock.

I am a farmer that sacrifices every aspect of my life to put food on your table and essentials in your home.

I am a farmer driving my tractor down the road, trying to feed the world, as you flip me off because I slowed you down. Please reread my first statement.

I am a farmer that works day and night until I get the job done even though I am exhausted.

I am a farmer you are criticizing because of your beliefs and the misinformation you read.

I am a farmer that you think is rich. Do you know how much it cost to plant a crop and the cost of the equipment? Do you follow the grain market?

I am a farmer that wants you to understand what it is like to live and operate a grain and livestock farm.

I am a farmer that is FrUsTrAtEd with the misconceptions and uninformed people.

I am a farmer full of spunk and welcome your questions and farm visits (bring your boots and a shovel).

I am a farmer that will advocate for agriculture until the day I die.

I am a farmer that is full of determination and will not give up.

I am a farmer that is proud to be part of the 2%.

I AM A FARMER.
