My famous Snicker Doodle Cookies have been feeding hungry farmers, family and friends for years! This is an old recipe from my childhood passed down for many generations. Enjoy this cookie rolled in cinnamon and sugar!

Ingredients

•1 cup shortening

•1 and 1/2 cups sugar

•2 eggs

•2 and 3/4 cup flour

•1/2 tsp salt

•1 tsp baking soda

•2 tsp cream of tartar

•1/2 tps cinnamon

•2 tps sugar

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 400°

  2. Combine flour, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar in a small bowl.

  3. Using an electric mixer, beat the shortening and sugar together until creamy in a large mixing bowl

  4. Beat the eggs together in a small bowl and add to mixer

  5. Slowly add the flour mixture in small amounts until all of it is combined

  6. Use a teaspoon and dip out the dough and roll into small balls.

  7. Mix the cinnamon and 2 tsp of sugar together in a small bowl

  8. Roll the dough balls in the cinnamon and sugar mixture

  9. Put them on cookie sheets and bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes.  Let rest on cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes then move to cooling racks.
