Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who loves a gooey chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven with a tall glass of milk?

This cookie dough can be used immediately, refrigerated or frozen, and baked one pan at a time. Either way, it is easy to throw a pan full of cookie dough in the oven and still taste amazingly delicious. Enjoy this simple recipe made with basic ingredients easily found in your pantry.

Ingredients

•1 cup shortening, room temperature

•3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

•3/4 cup white sugar

•1/2 tsp pure vanilla -if using imitation use 1 tsp

•1/2 tsp water

•2 large eggs

•2 cups all-purpose flour

•1 tsp baking soda

•1 tsp salt

•2 cups chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 375°

  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl

  3. Use an electric mixer and beat the shortening, white sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large   mixing bowl until creamy

  4. Beat eggs together in a small bowl and add to mixer

  5. Slowly add the flour mixture in small amounts until all of it is combined

  6. Stir in the chocolate chips

  7. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoon on to cookie sheets

  8. Bake 8-10 minutes at 375°.  Let rest on cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes then move to cooking racks
